1. A force \(\vec F = \left( {12N} \right)\hat i - \left( {10N} \right)\hat j\) acts on a 2 kg disk. Find the acceleration \(\vec a\). What is the magnitude \(\left| {\vec a} \right|\)?
2. You push on a model train of mass m with a force of 1 N. The train starts from rest and travels in a straight line a distance of 2 m in 4 s. Find m.
3. A box of mass m1 rests on a box of mass m2, which is at rest on a table. Using a prime symbol to represent the reaction force and an unprimed symbol to represent the action force, draw all action and reaction forces on boxes m1 and m2. Draw each box separately so that forces can be seen clearly.
4. An 11.3 gram M118LR cartridge starts from rest and exits from the end of the 0.508 m barrel of a M110 semi-automatic sniper rifle at 783 m/s. Find the average force on the cartridge while it is in the barrel of the rifle.
5. An 8 kg bucket of water is attached to a vertical rope and is at rest. The bucket is then pulled upward with constant acceleration. What is the tension in the rope that is required to give the bucket an upward speed of 80 cm/s in 0.4 s?
